Upright Meaning
The Apprentice stands at the foot of the mountain, cup in hand, ready to learn. This is a card of open questions and humble beginnings: you do not need to know yet — you need to ask. Find a teacher, a book, a practice, and drink deeply.
Reversed Meaning
Reversed, the Apprentice has become the fool who will not be taught — or the student drowning in theory with no practice. If you are stuck, the problem is not your ignorance but your refusal to receive. Lower the cup, open the hand.
